The Story
Set years before the first film, this one follows Katie and Kristi as young girls, and the family camera that first started catching something in their home.
Verdict
This is my personal favorite of the sequels, and I don’t think it’s close. Going back to the 1980s setting and to the sisters as kids gives the whole thing a different, more unsettling texture, and I genuinely think the camera setup here, the oscillating fan rig, is one of the cleverest tricks the whole franchise ever pulled off. If you only watch one sequel, I’d point you here first.
