The Story
After surviving a near-death experience, a woman starts having nightmares connected to the hotel from the earlier films, and begins uncovering how deeply her own life is tied to its history.
Verdict
As the newest entry, I went in curious whether the series still had something left to say, and for me the answer is mixed. I appreciate that it’s trying to tie the whole franchise’s mythology together into one story, but that ambition comes at the cost of some pacing issues, and I didn’t find it as tense as the earlier films at their best. Worth it mainly if you’ve stuck with the series this far and want to see where it all connects.
