The Story
A small Maryland town’s Fourth of July celebration spirals into chaos after a parasitic outbreak, tied to environmental contamination in the local water supply, starts spreading fast. The footage assembled here comes from confiscated phones, police cameras, and whatever else was recording that day.
Verdict
Looks and feels a lot bigger than its budget. Barry Levinson stages the outbreak, and the cover-up that follows, with genuine scale for a found footage film, and the practical creature/makeup effects still hold up years later. One of the best virus/outbreak movies, and the foudn footage style makes it even more realistic.
