The Story
A team of explorers descends into the real catacombs beneath Paris chasing an ancient legend, and finds a door leading somewhere considerably worse than a burial ground.
Verdict
Knowing this was actually shot in the real Paris catacombs makes it an instant hook for me, and I think the film earns that location. It starts as a fairly standard horror setup and then pivots hard into something much stranger and more disorienting than I expected going in. I’d genuinely recommend going in as blind as possible, since a lot of the appeal is not knowing where it’s about to take you next.
