The Story
A group of film students in Lima break into a real, notoriously haunted house for a college project, chasing decades of local rumors about the families who lived and died there.
Verdict
I went in with fairly low expectations, mostly because I’d heard it leans hard on films like Grave Encounters and Paranormal Activity for its style. That’s true, but I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I expected to, enough that it earned its spot on this list. The practical effects are genuinely stronger than the budget suggests, and there’s something genuinely charming about a found footage film built entirely around a real, local urban legend instead of something invented for the script. A fun, solid watch, and a great pick if you’re already deep into this genre.
