The Story
A grad student researching random-chat webcam culture stumbles onto what looks like a real murder happening live online, and the person responsible notices she was watching.
Verdict
The random-chat sequences feel uncomfortably real, and that’s genuinely what makes this film work as well as it does. The webcam-era dread here is some of the best I’ve seen in this genre, and I love how committed the film is to that format throughout. It shifts into a more conventional thriller in the back half, but even then it never loses the tension it built up front
