The Story
A family power outage sends a teenage son out to investigate, camera in hand. What he captures follows him and his brothers straight back home, and things get considerably worse once it arrives.
Verdict
About as close to a perfect found footage film as the format gets — grainy, unpolished, and the performances feel completely natural rather than scripted. The best alien entry the genre has ever produced, and one of the most convincing pieces of amateur-style horror footage ever made.
