The Story
Decades of unexplained disappearances in a small Alaskan town point toward something far bigger than local investigators are willing to admit. A psychologist’s own patient sessions, presented alongside dramatized reenactments, start uncovering exactly what’s been happening.
Verdict
Fine and watchable — that’s about where I land on this one. It throws real shock value at you a couple of times, which counts for something, but it never quite decides whether it wants to be a serious psychological thriller or straight horror, and that indecision keeps it from fully landing either way. Milla Jovovich does what she can with the material, and the bigger budget shows in the production value, but neither is enough to make it stand out. Not groundbreaking, and not a film I’d steer you away from either, just not one I’d put at the top of the list.
