The Story

A journalist builds a fake online identity to investigate how extremist recruiters target young women, and finds herself pulled further into the relationship than the assignment ever called for.

Verdict

This is tackling a genuinely serious, real-world subject, and I think it handles it with more care than I expected going in. Formally, it’s a close cousin to the Unfriended films, and I think the screenlife tension is handled with real skill throughout. Not an easy watch given the subject matter, but a well-made one.
