The Story
Years after the tragedy at the original hotel, an investigative journalist gets a tip that the truth is hidden somewhere inside the now-abandoned building, and puts together a team to go find it.
Verdict
I went in hoping for something close to the first film and came away a little disappointed. It answers some of the questions the original left open, which I appreciated, but I didn’t find the new characters as compelling, and a lot of the scares felt like they were chasing the same beats rather than building something new. Worth watching if you’re invested in the story, less so if you’re looking for something as strong as the original stands alone.
