The Story
A wealthy buyer purchases the now-infamous hotel for a new interactive show, and invites a journalist and her crew to document everything leading up to opening night.
Verdict
I think this one leans a bit too hard into expanding the mythology at the expense of the tension that made the first film work so well. There’s an ambition here I respect, tying more of the series’ lore together, but I found myself more interested in the ideas than actually scared while watching. A necessary chapter if you’re following the story, but not one I’d point to as a highlight.
