The Story
Cursed music videos, terrifying live performances and a pile of tapes you should probably not play. This time the V/H/S series turns up the volume and builds every story around music.
Verdict
The music theme is the best idea the series has had in a while, but the mixtape is uneven, and that shows in the 4.2 on IMDb. The highlights for me are the death metal music video “Premature Burial”, the puppet horror of “Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance” and the three minutes of stop-motion monsters in “Another Cabin”. The GWAR wraparound and a couple of the middle stories are forgettable, and the RZA finale is nastier than it is clever. Not the best V/H/S, but if you like the series it is worth sitting through for the good parts.
