The Story
A documentary crew gets exclusive access to an aspiring slasher icon as he meticulously plans his first killing spree, in a world where Jason, Michael, and Freddy were all real.
Verdict
This was a complete surprise for me the first time I watched it. If you know your slasher tropes, the inside jokes land constantly, and I love how the film builds real affection for its central killer before flipping the tone completely once the actual killing starts. It’s genuinely funny for most of the runtime, and then genuinely unsettling once the format shifts into real found footage for the climax. One of my favorite deep cuts in this whole genre.
